Crochet Peacock Feather

Motley, Magnetic and a Mascot feather. Did I say just too much? But, that's what I think about it.
Today's post is about a lovely Peacock feather.  I made it just for fun and now I'm making key hangers and bookmarks with it. And since it looks like little colorful dream catcher I can hang it around it as well.

Skill:

Beginner

Materials:

Yarn of 6 different colors. (Probably black, blue, yellow, rust, green and a gradient green)
Crochet hook(size: 9G pony hook)

Steps:

Round 1. Make a magic ring and 8 double crochet stitches in it with the black color. Change the color to blue and add two more stitches in the magic ring of blue color.
Hence total stitches in magic ring is 10.

Round 2. Make 2 half double crochet stitches in each stitch till you reach the 8th stitch. Make 1 double crochet stitch, Chain 1, make another double crochet stitch in the same stitch ( a lil hole is made) and continue in half double crochet stitch for the full round.

Round 3. Change color to yellow. Make 2 half double crochet stitches in each stitch. when you reach the hole of the above round make 1 double crochet stitch in the hole. chain 1. make another one in the same hole. continue with the half double crochet stitches.

Round 4. Change color to rust. ( I used a beautiful gradient rust) Make 2 half double crochet stitches in one stitch and 1 in next. continue for the entire round. When you reach the Double crochets of underlying row, Make a similar double crochets for your current row.

Round 5. Change color to green. This round is done in single crochet stitch. Make 2 single crochet stitches in one stitch, 1 single crochet in next, 1 more in next. Repeat for the entire round. When you reach the Double crochets of underlying row, Make a similar double crochets for your current row.

Round 6. Take a different colored yarn. I used a green and blue gradient yarn. Cut 15 strands of equal lengths and tie them at the bottom side of the rim of the feather.

I used it as a bookmark.
